Jefferson Community College Launches META Mental Health Counseling Platform
Jefferson Community College (SUNY Jefferson), a public community college in Watertown, New York, is now offering online counseling services for all students. SUNY Jefferson has partnered with META Teletherapy, the nation’s first platform for college mental wellness, to provide students with confidential and easy access to marketplace of licensed providers.

SUNY Jefferson students can download the free META mobile app and connect to a marketplace of licensed counselors, therapists, and clinical social workers for private counseling sessions via chat, video, or voice calls. Jefferson Community College will cover the counseling session costs for students without have insurance.

College students throughout the nation struggle with mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjusting to growing academic pressure. META offers students a convenient, private, and secure way to connect to a counselor on their terms.

The marketplace of providers on META are highly rated, with 98% receiving a 5/5 score from students following their sessions. Students on META can choose their own counselor and filter providers by characteristics most important to them, including ethnicity, language, gender, therapy style and more. Once a student sends a chat message to their chosen provider, they receive a reply in just hours to schedule a session at a time that works for them, including evenings and weekends.

With META, all Jefferson Community College students have an easy way to receive the support they need to succeed in college and in their lives. META also includes self-service content pushed out weekly through the app to support students throughout the year.
